January 2020 Newsletter

Matters of Faith:

Next Officer Meeting:

The month of January is dedicated to the Holy Name of Jesus, which was celebrated on January 3. The first twelve days of January fall during the liturgical season known as Christmas which is represented by the liturgical color white — the color of light, a symbol of joy, purity and innocence (absolute or restored). The remaining days of January are the beginning of Ordinary Time, which is represented by the liturgical color green. This symbol of hope is the color of the sprouting seed and arouses in the faithful the hope of reaping the eternal harvest of heaven, especially the hope of a glorious resurrection. It is used in the offices and Masses of Ordinary Time.

We are very proud to have such fine Catholic gentlemen as part of our council. We are thankful for all that you have done for us and we look forward to all that you will do!

Crab Feed Announcements

Brother Larry Carilli advised we sold out all 400 seats for this event and have 80 people on the waiting list. Doors will open at 5:30 PM, Saturday 8th. We need more Knights to sign up to help. Mike Valentine needs help tending the bar and selling raffle tickets. We also need more raffle prizes, which Brothers Chris Cole and Tom Calderon are organizing. We are striving for 40 table sponsors and would like to secure additional Silver, Gold and Platinum sponsors. Every person who brings in a sponsor or purchases a sponsorship will be invited to Larry’s famous Elite Dinner. Brother Ron Susa needs someone to run the “Spin-the-Wheel” station. The gym will be set up for the Crab Feed on February 7th.

Decorating will take place 5-6:30 PM followed by table set-up Bro. Mike Glazzy will put out a “Sign-up genius” for volunteers.

Free Throw Competition

We are very grateful for all the Knights that showed up to help the Free Throw Competition this year, despite the important football game featuring the 49ers. This kids had a lot of fun and everything ran smoothly because of your help!

Rosary Crusade for Lent

Brother David Tomcik will be leading this year’s Rosary Crusade. This year, however, there will be a twist! We will gather on Fridays of Lent in the St Joan of Arc Eucharistic Chapel at 6:30 pm to pray the rosary as a group. This recitation of the Rosary will be a great opportunity to bond as brothers and as an outward expression of our faith. Please keep an eye out for a Sign-Up Genius by Brother Mike Glazzy in the coming weeks.
